Nón ăn có mùi thơm đặc trưng của Patê, màu nâu vàng sóng sánh cùng màu đỏ của cà rốt, vàng của khoai lang. Gà mềm đậm đà, khoai tây và cà rốt chín nhừ rất dễ ăn và lạ miệng, đặc biệt trong những ngày mùa đông.
Thịt gà rửa sạch, chặt miếng vừa ăn. Ướp gà với 1/2 số hành tỏi bằm, 2 muỗng cà phê hạt nêm, 1/2 muỗng cà phê tiêu.
Cà rốt, khoai tây gọt vỏ sạch, cắt miếng vừa ăn. Ngò rí rửa sạch, cắt thô.
Cho dầu ăn vào chảo, bắc lên bếp chờ nóng cho khoai tây vào chiên vàng, vớt ra để đĩa riêng.
Đổ bớt dầu trong chảo ra, cho hành tỏi băm còn lại vào phi thơm. Sau đó cho thịt gà vào xào săn, nêm thêm 2 muỗng cà phê hạt nêm.
Thêm nước vào chảo ngập mặt gà, đậy vung lại và đun sôi. Sau khi gà chín thì cho cà rốt khoai tây vào, đậy vung lại, đun lửa vừa trong khoảng 10 phút.
Cho pa tê vào chén, dùng muỗng dầm nhuyễn. Lúc này khoai tây và cà rốt đã chín mềm, mở vung rồi cho pa tê và đảo đều, nhẹ tay, đun thêm 5 phút nữa rồi nêm nếm lại cho vừa ăn.
Cuối cùng rắc ngò rí vào cho thơm và tắt bếp, lấy gà nấu patê ra chén, dùng nóng.
