Install Flash Player This stuff is legit. Be warned, the concentrate *is* messy and like others have commented, it will stain like a mofo whatever it touches. READ the helpful instruction sheet that comes with the package. Then read it again. I used masking paper and tape to protect surrounding concrete. Remember, the quality of your finished product depends on the prep you do before. Put on some gloves, grab your yard sprayer & fill it with water, then add the desired amount per the instructions. I did about half the 32oz bottle (16oz) into a 2 gallon sprayer. Best to pour, fill, etc, over some rocks or the lawn since it can splash a little when you pour. Then apply. Tip: keep the sprayer a little higher so you spray longer, but get a more even coverage than spraying too close. Is it perfect, no. Is it a remarkable improvement over a dead, barren backyard, absolutely.

What I need for my mandatory 38% reduction.
This looks better than I expected. I thought I would try a very dilute mixture to make the grass look a little greener, but now look like painted grass. So I added a few ounces to a gallon of water in a sprayer I had in the garage, shook it up and sprayed it on a completely brown area of about 500 square feet that I stopped watering a few weeks back. It covered well, and doesn't look like lush, green healthy grass, but rather grass that is getting some water. That actually is the look I wanted. In a couple of weeks I'll go over it again and make it greener if I have to. Delivery was quick, I used a cheap sprayer I already have, and cleanup was simple. There is a very useful instruction sheet that was shipped in the box. I recommend reading it and following those instructions carefully before you start.

Hair dye for lawns!
Greenest lawn in the neighborhood after applying product with a gallon sprayer. My front yard in 800 sq ft with a 60 foot tall Blue Spruce that has sucked the life out of the dirt over the years. Lawn was dried out and brown after winter and I refuse to pay Denver Water any more money than I have too. Poured a couple ounces into the sprayer, mixed with water and applied to grass, dirt, pine needles and whatever else was there. Took me almost 3 hours and 10 gallons of liquid and still have half a bottle of paint. It rained the day after applying paint, and it looks just as green. Expecting a winter storm this weekend and we will see if the color holds and lasts 3 months. For $7 (half a bottle) vs $300+ in water to keep lawn green all summer, I'm HAPPY. The color does look fake, but whatever, it's paint.

Well it works!
The front of my house gets a ton of sun and the grass dies each year. I heard about this product and figured I'd give it a try. I followed the instructions and sprayed it on my grass using an old sprayer. A couple of things. 1 this stuff is like paint, so treat it as such or you'll be covered in green. 2 don't use an old sprayer, get a new one with an adjustable nozzle, it will allow you to more evenly control the application 3 take your time and apply evenly and in a controlled manner It took about an hour to do my front yard, which is no where near 1000 sq ft, but I used the entire bottle. My sprayer is old and might be why I used so much product. My yard looks great and my neighbor drove by when I started and then drove by as I finished. He wanted to know how I got my lawn so green in less than an hour. I'd definitely use it again. But I'll get a new sprayer next time. Update - Two days after application, we had the mother of all thunderstorms. Flooding, rain coming down sideways, high winds lightning strikes and downed trees. Despite the storm, my lawn is still just as green as the day I applied EnviroColor. I thought for sure, that some of it would be washed away. Nope, it stood up to the elements just fine.

Love my green lawn!
This is the same stuff they use at the local golf course. I posted a before and after picture (I have two sections like the lawn section in the photo so probably close to 800 square feet FYI) - and I could have gone full emerald green, but I kept it rather "light" which I thought was a little more realistic looking. I read a lot of reviews here and the tips & comments helped me so I hope that this review will help you too. Unlike many reviewers - I had NO problems with gumming up or clogging BUT I followed the directions and shook the bottle REALLY well. Make no mistake, this is paint, like really thick paint, kind of like the consistency of watery yogurt (!) so shake it really good. Then, it tells you to fill the sprayer first with water and THEN add the product. I think this step is very important. I used the Chapin's 2 gallon sprayer with "sure spray Anti-Clog filter for clog-free spraying" (which I bought here on Amazon) and which may have also helped eliminate clogging. After I added the paint to the 2 gallon water filled container, I shook it (really good), like instructed. Then, as I painted the lawn, I kept shaking it every few minutes thinking that would prevent the product settling & potentially causing a clog . The anti-clog mechanism at the end of the tube in the sprayer may, indeed, have helped too. When it came time to refill the container, even though it hadn't clogged, because of all the reviews about the sprayers clogging, I went ahead and rinsed out the spray tube and the little "anti-clog" attachment, then refilled it with water & added paint again. OK, a few more tips... The container is not that big! 32oz sounds like a lot but it says to use 6-12 oz per gallon! I did not want to run out and I'm frugal (aka cheap) so since the instructions say to paint the lawn twice going vertical and then horizontal, I decided to err on the side of too little rather than too much. So I used 6 oz per gallon. That was plenty!!!!! (May also have helped prevent clogging.) The second time for the second coat, being the cheapie that I am, I only added 8oz to the whole 2 gallons of water. It actually seemed fine! And now I have 12oz left for future use! Now don't forget what some reviewers have said! This is paint and will stain you, your shoes your hands the cement- everything! In fact it seems to stain more & quicker than regular paint. So I wore bags on my feet, gloves, paint clothes and then I used a big piece of cardboard to block to "mask" the edges (see photo). Have water and a rag handy to wipe up a spill asap. I highly recommend treating the lawn like you're painting a wall. Do the trim first - which I did (going around the lawn with a big piece of cardboard to block overspray) and then you can just paint the inside without worrying about overspray. If you go slow and close you can literally paint the lawn emerald green. I went fast with wide strokes 2-3 feet back and forth and went with a light coat. Then the second coat was the same but doing my strokes in a different direction. I could have used my leftover paint and gone for a third coat but I was fine with the way it turned out.

What a great product!
I let my grass in the front yard turn brown to save water. I put this product on this morning and the lawn looks great. I used the minimal amount of "paint" as per the directions. If you want to get it done quickly, you could add more color, but I found the weaker solution allowed it to drip down to the root area making it look more natural. I used the paper packing to put on top of the concrete and lawn border. Next time I will tape it down so it does not get on the concrete. You have to scrub fast and hard once it is spilled. Also be careful when refilling the container. Even if you open it slowly, the green will get on you. Looking at the color five hours later, it looks a little blue, but not much. I didn't totally saturate the lawn. I thought a little brown undertone in areas made it look more natural. 16 oz. covered about 300 sq feet. I'd buy it again.

Make your dead grass obnoxiously green!
This stuff is awesome, but over-order as you’ll likely use too much as I did. Expensive, but better than wasting water on grass you could care less about in the first place. I used this on our front yard that will eventually be torn up and replaced with planter beds and drought resistant plants. Your neighbors walking/driving by while you’re applying the paint will laugh at you, but it looks fantastic! Don’t be jealous that I’m saving water Clarence! Pro tip: Wear an old set of Crocs or shoes/boots that you don’t mind being ruined.

Live in Southern CA? You need this
I use this on my dead lawn that I stopped watering over a year ago, no one believes me that it is painted. Easy application with a Hudson sprayer. I live in Southern California so it lasted 6 months since we have almost no rain.

No need for watering.
This is the second year that I have used a lawn paint and this one is so much better then the product I used before. It took 18oz along with 1.5 gallons of water in a good sprayer with a fan tip to paint my front lawn. Also just as a side note, last year I did not water my lawn all summer and come winter rains I had one of the nicest lawns. Photos are before, after and an after closer up.
